Lisa and Emily have been best friends since they were in kindergarten. They have done everything together, from playing dress-up to going to the same school. They even live on the same street.
One day, Lisa woke up feeling down. She had had a bad dream and didn’t sleep well. She felt grumpy and didn’t want to talk to anyone. When Emily came over, she noticed that Lisa wasn’t her usual self.
“What’s wrong, Lisa?” Emily asked.
“Nothing,” Lisa replied with a shrug.
But Emily knew better. She knew Lisa well enough to know that something was bothering her.
“Come on, tell me,” Emily said, patting Lisa’s back.
Lisa sighed and told Emily about her bad dream. Emily listened attentively and then suggested they go for a walk to clear Lisa’s mind.
As they walked, Emily made Lisa laugh with silly jokes and funny faces. Slowly, Lisa’s mood lifted, and she began to feel better.
“I’m glad we’re friends,” Lisa said to Emily, smiling.
“Me too,” Emily replied, hugging Lisa.
From that day on, Lisa and Emily made a promise to always be there for each other, no matter what.
