Samantha loved her cat more than anything else in the world. She had adopted him from the animal shelter two years ago, and they had been inseparable ever since. His name was Mittens, and he had soft, fluffy white fur with patches of gray.
Every day, Samantha would wake up and feed Mittens his breakfast. She would then get ready for school and give him a quick cuddle before leaving the house. When she came back home, Mittens would be waiting for her by the door, meowing loudly until she picked him up and gave him a big hug.
They spent their afternoons playing with toys, napping in the sun, and watching birds from the window. Sometimes, Mittens would even curl up on Samantha’s lap while she did her homework or watched TV.
One day, Samantha’s friends came over to her house for a sleepover. They were all impressed by how cute and friendly Mittens was. They spent the evening playing with him and taking pictures of him.
Later that night, as they were all getting ready for bed, Samantha’s friends asked her if she had ever thought about getting another pet. Samantha thought about it for a moment and realized that she had all the love and companionship she needed in Mittens.
She smiled and shook her head. “No, I don’t think I could handle another pet. Mittens is all I need.”
Her friends nodded in agreement and Mittens jumped onto the bed, purring contentedly as they all drifted off to sleep.
